Sloan’s Christmas Village is a family-owned destination with deep roots in Bothwell, Ontario. The tradition began in 1950, when William and Jean Sloan sold pine and spruce trees from their front yard. By popular request, the u-cut experience was introduced, and in 1998 Sloan’s established a permanent location on Zone Road #7. Today, the farm is run by John and Sheila Sloan, who continue to preserve the forest and cultivate premium Christmas trees, including the popular Fraser Fir, prized for its fragrance and needle retention. Sloan’s has grown far beyond a tree farm into a full holiday village, offering more than a dozen activities, hundreds of campfires, and a vibrant marketplace of local vendors. Families can enjoy wagon rides, games, and festive entertainment, making the farm a favorite destination for holiday outings, company parties, and seasonal celebrations. Since 2010, Sloan’s has also hosted school field trips, blending fun and education with outdoor learning in the Carolinian forest. In 2020, Sloan’s expanded with a second village to welcome more guests and now also offers summer activities. With its blend of history, innovation, and festive spirit, Sloan’s Christmas Village has become one of Ontario’s most beloved holiday destinations, bringing joy to families year after year.
